Get involved!

In this first phase of this project, there are 3 main ways you can get involved and contribute to the project.

If you are an educator, student group, or geoscience enthusiast and are interested in 3D printing the thin section viewer for use as a teaching or outreach exercise, this is the option for you.

Get in touch to express your interest, print the 3D thin section viewer and I will send you a collection of thin section along with accompanying samples of rocks and simple educational materials which you can use for your activity. Once your activity is complete, I will coordinate to send the traveling collection to the next participant.

In this first phase of the project, I am looking for participants that have the capability to print the viewer themselves. In the next phase, I will be looking to pair groups that might not have the resources or capabilities with 3D printing enthusiasts that are interested in printing the thin section viewing to help out.

Are you are 3D printing enthusiast and interested in helping out with this outreach project? For the next phase of the project, I would like to pair geo-3D printing enthusiasts interested in helping out with educators who are interested in participating but lack 3D printing resources. Please get in touch if this might interest you!

Do you have piles of beautiful thin sections that are collecting dust? Stunning rocks in excess? Get in touch to contribute thin sections to the traveling collections or rock to have thin section made of.
